About TOEFL
WHAT IS TOEFL ? TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is a test used to determine a person's level of ability in English. This test is intended for people who do not use English as a mother tongue or in other words people in countries that use English as a foreign or second language. Generally, this test is used as one of the prerequisites for someone who wants to continue his studies or work in a country that uses English in daily communication. Besides TOEFL, there are still several other types of tests that are almost the same, namely IELTS, TOEIC and ESOL. TOEFL was developed and issued by ETS (Educational Testing Service) based in New Jersey, USA. This test was first introduced in 1963. At present there are 3 types of TOEFL tests issued by ETS, namely PBT (Paper Based Test) TOEFL, CBT (Computer Based Test) TOEFL and iBT (internet Based Test) TOEFL.
